Does anyone know if this app works without all permissions enabled? I am getting the "We're checking one more thing" message too, but I disabled some permissions that I don't intend to use (calls, contacts and SMS). I know sometimes developers don't put in good error handling for rejecting permissions, and I'm wondering if this is one of those occaisions where if you reject the initial request you basically have to reset the app and start again.

It's a little odd because the Windows app itself works just fine. I can mirror the phone's screen, drag and drop files, browse photos. But the app on the phone is stuck on a spinner.

I also had this issue on my Android phone. I was able to resolve it by taking the following steps:

Open Settings -> Apps -> Your Phone Companion.

Click on Storage then Clear Data

Restart the Your Phone Companion app then go through the steps to reconnect.
