    Q2Do: Please try...

Used an abridged version of this advice and did: (have a Note 9 Phone)

    1- On my Android:

Settings / Apps / Opened Your Phone Companion / Storage / Clear Data & Cache (accept yes if it asks) / Close Settings

(I did not uninstall the App on my phone and re-install it)

    2- On my PC:

in search on the bottom left, put in "programs" and choose: Add or Remove Programs

search for Your Phone (I did not have the option to uninstall)

    Choose Advanced Options

Choose Repair (it puts a check mark that it is done)

Choose Reset (it puts a check mark that it is done)

Choose Terminate (it gives a warning it will disconnect everything, but that is good...that is what you want it to do...clear it all)

    Close this.

3- Start the process again on the phone and the PC app with the software and it worked!

    Thanks Gilles G! :=)

    2 more notes:

    a) I had my mobile phone on wifi to be on the same network as my PC when they connected.

    b) After it worked and they were connected, in order to NOT Have to have my phone on WIFI any longer to sync, I did:

On Your Phone App on your mobile phone

    Go into:

    Settings

    Sync over mobile data

    turn that to ON

    then back out.

now you do not have to be on Wifi any longer to sync!

Thanks Buzybee789, grateful for these instructions - I'm now connected!

FYI, I was on wifi - I wasn't attempting this over mobile network.

MS: To help others, it would be useful if there was more info/control from within the app

BB: appreciate my "get out of jail" assistance.

Ahh, I'm glad it worked! My situation was a little different. Both my phone and my PC were on my employer's wifi. As soon as I placed both the PC and the phone on my personal wifi, voila. There really should be a way to accomplish the "reset" steps without having to trapse through a bunch of sprawling steps!
