This link uses command prompt to access the setting which are now missing in the new update. Open command prompt as Admin, otherwise it didn't work for me.

This whole thread should is painful to read and should be an embarrassment to Microsoft.  I get so tired of reading these threads where MS has no idea what people are talking about and act like they have no idea there is an issue when users are clearly explaining the problem.  It is also pathetic the support doesn't know what an Acer Swift is, or cant do a little homework to find out so they at least appear that they know what they're doing.  This adaptive brightness thing is a blatantly obvious oversight by Microsoft and is why I wont update my laptops to 1809.  Stop treating your users this way and fix this stupid screw up.

    Thank You!

I also noticed that the adaptive brightness option is gone on my asus vivobook s after the 1809 update.

Also faced a strange issue, the brightness of the screen once suddenly became too low even at 100%. But it got back to normal after a restart. Haven't ever faced such issue on the earlier build.

Is your problem solved now? Because I'm facing the same issue with my laptop which I have bought just 4 days ago.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

This issue is driving me crazy, the brightness is always too dim and there's nothing I can do to solve it. The option on my Asus VivoBook X510U is also missing(it's in Portuguese, but it's possible to see there's only one option under the Video item). Is it a known bug or we're facing some sort of error on out updates?
