‘No applicable devices linked to Microsoft account’

i have been trying to download sims 4 on my windows 10 lenovo. It says ‘you own this game’ and gives me the option to ‘install on my devices’ however when i click this, it tells me i dont have any applicable devices linked to my microsoft account. I do have a microsoft account and it is linked to my windows 10 laptop. Is this an issue with windows 10? It was very expensive so i therefore expect to get my moneysworth. Do i need am Xbox account? Is that the issue? Very frustrated i just wanted the sims and have discovered that many people have the same issue. Help me microsoft!

    I bought Sea of thieves December 31, 2019 and I cannot install it because it says there is not an applicable device linked to your Microsoft account and I do not know what it is. I've spent a whole evening on it but I'm not making any progress so I want my SEK 249 back or so from you guys so it works

    Same. I had done this a month ago, and it had eventually worked over the next couple days. I renew my subscription today, and as expected, the same thing happens. Super wonky if you ask me. Kinda fucking sucks.

    Getting this issue with the master chief collection for pc, my pc is 100% linked and I installed gears 4 with the game pass last week but halo is adamant that I have no applicable devices linked. Did anyone figure out a fix for this?

    Had the same issue, though found that if I opened the Microsoft Store on my PC, and searched for a game, could install from there.

    I am having the same problem as the original poster, but this did not work for me.  Nor did resetting the MS Store, updating Windows, or anything else I came across.  Unfortunate...
