Windows 10: Sudden activation Error

Having had a legitimate copy of Win10x64 Pro since release, today I have been presented with an activation error (0xC004C003). Running the trouble shooter tells me that I I have a Win10 HOME licence (which is a false statement). Looking at my MS account online it clearly states I have a pro licence. There has been no hardware changes

We are aware of reports that some customers’ Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise machines are not recognizing their licenses as activated. Users may receive the following notification: “Error: you are running Windows 10 Pro, but you have valid digital license for Windows 10 Home," or one of the following error codes 0X803F8001, 0xC004C003.

We are actively working to resolve this within 24 hours. You can still use your PC; however, the watermark will appear until activation is restored. Thank you for your patience.

We will update this post with additional information as needed and once activations are restored.

I upgraded from Win7 Home to Win10 Home during the free period, then upgraded from Win10 Home to Win 10 Pro buy purchasing it from the Microsoft Store in August of this year.

Other than that, I have the exact same problem.  Settings > Update & Security > Activation troubleshooting says "We found a Windows 10 Home digital license for this device running Windows 10 Pro".

The troubleshooter also says "You can also activate this device by going to the Store and purchasing a genuine copy of Windows". Ha! Uh, you mean like I did 3 months ago?

Also, have to say, Microsoft "Customer Support" sucks. I tried several times navigating the Hell that is their voice menu system. Most of the time it navigated me to a dead end, said "goodbye" and hung up. Tried several times with different answers, trying to get connected to a goddamed human. One time I got close, and somehow got into a queue... where the wait time was 25-30 minutes. I did the callback option, and you'll be surprised to learn... wait for it... they never called back.

Tried several more times where my brilliant combination of saying "representative!!" over and over and yelling curse words somehow got me connected to a couple of live humans, where I discovered they somehow fucked up their activation servers. Total time dealing with this bozo company: about 2 hours.

I only have a handful of Win10 Pro machines....thankfully.  I did check one and while it is logged in, I fear the next reboot will be a mess.  It show it is Windows 10 Pro, but under activation, it has a button to activate.  I did not dare click as this machine is mission critical.

I see it here in the UK. Two PCs. (Haven't checked the laptop.)

Seems that Microsoft is in a roll in terms of screwed up updates.

They should rename it Botch Tuesday.
