Windows 10: Sudden activation Error

Having had a legitimate copy of Win10x64 Pro since release, today I have been presented with an activation error (0xC004C003). Running the trouble shooter tells me that I I have a Win10 HOME licence (which is a false statement). Looking at my MS account online it clearly states I have a pro licence. There has been no hardware changes

We are aware of reports that some customers’ Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise machines are not recognizing their licenses as activated. Users may receive the following notification: “Error: you are running Windows 10 Pro, but you have valid digital license for Windows 10 Home," or one of the following error codes 0X803F8001, 0xC004C003.

We are actively working to resolve this within 24 hours. You can still use your PC; however, the watermark will appear until activation is restored. Thank you for your patience.

We will update this post with additional information as needed and once activations are restored.

    Microsoft appear to have resolved the issue.

    However, rather than feeling thankfull that the issue has been resolved I'm more inclined to ask the question

    WHY HAVE MICROST HAVE CAUSED YET ANOTHER NEEDLESS PROBLEM FOR THEI USERS?

    Yes the fixed it, but they also CAUSED IT.

    This is a REAL CONCERD particularly given the problem of customer data breaches and security at Microsoft - Google Microsoft Date Breaches

    Although many news websites across the world are reporting that the problem has been fixed, we are still waiting for your update. In fact, I cannot find any official statement from Microsoft at all. In the meantime, our support phone has been ringing almost continuously for the past 24 hrs.

    Yesterday when I went to system settings, it showed I needed to activate.  Today (without at reboot), it shows it is activated.  I Mine came with Windows 10 installed.  A coworker who was on Windows 7 and just recently was upgraded to 10 (with a paid license) had the "watermark" on her computer earlier.  She did not go to settings to activate.  I just had her reboot her computer in case it needed a little help, and it is not resolved.  We will try the troubleshooting idea Tuesday if it is still not activated.

    Hi,

    As an Insider /slow ring for now/ I am to above and waiting unpatiently.

    For a few months ago my Win10 Pro x64 became HOME.

    Recently a message window appeared asking me to upgrade to PRO (sic!),

    I followed whole process and...now Iam ENTERPRISE owner w/out activation...

    Of course any attempt to activate fails...

    Guys, I suppose you may get bored there at MS HQ but c'mon...)))

    Maybe its enough fun for now?
