Hi,

I have gotten Blue screen many times since i just got my new pc 1 month ago.

Most of the times its when i play the Steam Game Civilization 6. It will crash at random times during the game.

So i stopped playing since im sick of my com crashing.

Most recently i started Guild Wars 3 and again the crash came..

Im starting to wonder if its because of some hardware configuration not done right that is why this is happening?

I custom build this at a local popular PC shop.

Here are the following parts -

AMD RYZEN 7 2700X CPU

GIGABYTE X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING

COSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 3200MHZ 8GB X 2PCS

ADATA XPG SX8200 480GB M.2 PCIE NVNE SSD

W.D 2TB 3.5" SATA3 HDD

ZOTAC GTX 1070TI 8GB MINI TWIN FAN

SEASONIC FOCUS FW 650W

Here is the list of errors that i recorded in order:

  1. Stop code: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
  2. Stop code: DRIVER_IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
  3. Stop code: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
  4. Stop code: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
  5. Stop code: KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
  6. Stop code: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (What failed: storport_sys)
  7. Stop code: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
  8. Stop code: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
  9. Stop code: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
  10. Stop code: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

So in the past 1 month it has crashed like about 10 times.. Im starting to think it maybe more than just the game issues. Please help.

I have tried updating all drivers too

Perhaps I have found my issue.

I suspect the issue is overheating of the CPU. Been running the same games recently without the tempered glass and had an external fan cooling the PC while running the apps. No problem even after many hours.

Put the glass on, BSOD within 10 mins..

Downloaded a software to check the temp of CPU GPU and everything,

when running normally CPU is around 50+ degree celcius, Gpu 40+ degree celcius.

When running games, CPU 75 to 80+ degree celcius,

GPU 60+ to 70 degree celcius.

Would any of the logs submitted actually point to that same issue?

Step 1:  Use this link to find alternative Nvidia drivers:

    https://www.nvidia.com/download/find.aspx

Step 2:  Test the installed GPU hardware with different driver versions

    a) Does the GPU bsod crash with multiple drivers?

    b) Does the GPU crash with only one driver?

Step 3:  Once you have performed step 2 and determined whether it was one specific driver or multiple drivers you can

    a) use a driver that does not produce BSOD.

    b) test the hardware because multiple drivers produce BSOD

Step 4:  There are three methods for the hardware:

    a) find a friend, neighbor, relative, or local computer store to swap the GPU card.

Make two tests:  Test a new card in the problematic computer and test the card from the problematic computer in another computer.

This should indicate whether the problem is or is not related to the GPU card.

    b) Remove the GPU card and determine whether there is or is not a display.

If there is no display then there is not testing using this method.

If there is a display then the GPU card is no longer part of the testing.  The Nvidia drivers can be uninstalled using DDU.  Then Windows driver verifier can be restarted to check the other drivers.

    c) Purchase another GPU card (this is a gamble as no confirmatory testing was performed)

In summary, the testing method is critical in determining whether drivers are ruled in or ruled out and whether hardware is ruled in or ruled out.

The above are steps that can be used to determine whether the Nvidia drivers or the Nvidia hardware are problematic.  If both are ruled out then other hardware can be tested.  At this juncture multiple dump files have indicated problems with the Nvidia drivers.  Only one driver has been tested and was involved in multiple BSOD crashes.

    Some motherboards have default graphics.

See if you can remove the GPU card and determine whether there is a display.

If there is a display then continue using Windows driver verifier to check drivers.

For best testing of the GPU a swap is an excellent option as there are two confirmation tests.

What problems did you encounter with these drivers:

Sadly, BSOD happened again. Submitting the new logs again.

I am not able to download an alternative Nvidia Driver from their website..

Also I dont have any spare Nvidia Card to swap.. This is my only PC, been using macbook before. People I know all use macbook too..

Gonna Turn Verifier off now if it is ok?
