That sedlauncher.exe file is part of Windows 10 update KB4023057 for Windows 10 which is designed to improve the speed of Windows Update Service components in your machine

    I had like 6 windows with that name popup on my screen I closed all except one just to see, and it said it failed, and I was confused on what it was and I thought I had a virus because if you look up anything around the lines of "sedlauncher" on YouTube it pops up with videos on viruses and how to remove them.

    What worked for me was to stop Sedlauncher  in Windows Task Scheduler. Use Windows key + r and then type taskschd.msc . Unfold the treeview on the left and go to Microsoft > Windows > rempl . In the middle pane right click on

    'shell' and select disable.

    I'd suggest going a bit further. Go to said folder, change ownership of the whole folder to current user, then delete it.

    Just for complement my previous post we have a lot of customers having issues with Windows corruptions when their location (city) suffers thunder storms since not all of them have 'UPS' device; sometimes some users cannot wait for "Shutdown and Install updates" with their laptops (going to college for example). Laptops with battery (old) issues face must of time with unexpected shutdown and corruption.

    We spend a lot of time downloading the .ISO from the MS-VLSC website and then after install (35min for HD and 18min for SSD) whe spend more 01h installing updates, restart, install more update, another reboot... annoying loop.

    >>> Why MS doesn´t provide a full .ISO with lastest updates???

    * We are using WSUSOFFLINE tool to help-us to decrease that time spent.
