That sedlauncher.exe file is part of Windows 10 update KB4023057 for Windows 10 which is designed to improve the speed of Windows Update Service components in your machine

    How can you uninstall a specific update and then prevent it from reinstalling itself under Windows 10???

    You can uninstall it, but problem is it will be re-installed on next update, so it is useless unless you keep a list o KBs that you do not want and do the uninstall everytime MS decides to install one/ once more...

    It's not the first time I hear that Micrsoft spyware  are responsible for frying  SSDs. I sslo noticed a second thing: whenever someone is running Win10 on a rather aging computer (I'm talking about age, not specs. I've seen one built frome 10+ years old components beating some currently sold at Costco.) the useless apps (sedlauncher, runtimebroker, compattel) seem to run on loop quite a lot more often. I'd like to remind you that Microsoft has priors why it comes to sabotaging user machines in order to force them to get a new one (remember Win 95 updating itself now and then to then refuse to launch with a message saying that this or that component was no longer supported, or MS pressuring gaming studios to add a line to newly released games to run an OS check and refuse to launch unless running Windows 95 even if the game was coded in Dos4WG).

    As I previously said, it's all obviously part of some planned obsolescence gimmick; forcing everyone who doesn't own a high-end PC  to needlessly purchase a new one, purchasing an extra copy of Windows 10. It was planned all along since the so-call free upgrades, as they didn't wanted user to stick to theire perfectly suited old OS, like they did with Win XP years ago, or with Windows 7 not so long ago.

    Hm, i don´t know why Microsoft would send a Program or Update, whitch has no description for it´s KB and could be also not found on Catalog.update.microsoft.com.

    Either it´s the only update whitch installs as USER Progam whitch can be removed with Uninstall Programs function. So it´s possible that it´s from Microsoft, but also it could be from somewhere else, Microsoft deliver singning Certificate on Windows Installtion whitch is used for signing Windows services during installation from used Wim File.

    Also a supportcall doesn´t gave an Answer for the need of this kb.

    So, i have uninstalled it and System run´s without Problems. Will uninstall again if it shows up the next time in Programs and Features.
