That sedlauncher.exe file is part of Windows 10 update KB4023057 for Windows 10 which is designed to improve the speed of Windows Update Service components in your machine

    I found this file bogging down the disk space greatly. Can it be removed because it made the computer slower NOT faster.

    it's preventing my computer from sleeping. I saw it last night with "powercfg -requests", then researched it, but it was gone when I checked again.

    my computer woke up at 6am this morning to do a backup, but never went back to sleep

    I have the same problem with microsoft products. They killing softly my hard disk and CPU by high usage these parts. Google do the same in chrome.
