Now i dont have the scan for hardware changes

I am desperately trying to get my camera back. first it came up with a error message. so I came here and someone said to uninstall the camera and restart the computer. I did that and now I cant find the camera icon in device manager. I came back here and asked again. I pretty much got the same reply but they said to go to action and "scan for hardware changes" I don't have that option and now im lost again. I don't get it because other than my firewall which ive since removed I have made zero changes to my computer and my camera was working 2 months ago and now its not. I don't know if there is an automatic update that I don't know about. but I went through the steps if it was updated and still nothing. it said if all else fails call the company that the camera belongs to, but I uninstalled so how am I supposed to know the name of it ?

    i deleted all antiviruses today 

    its still loading. 

    when i uninstalled the camera it was deleted so now i have to find away to retrieve the camera icon

    and yes i did reboot my computer but it did nothing. and when i open the camera its still the error message

    I explained how to delete the driver, ir doesn't delete the icon.

    Which error message ?

    Type camera in search zone and tell me exacly what happens

    When available please run the administrative command prompt command to collect logs and post a zip into this thread.

    Include in the zip dxdiag.

    Hi,

    Check the setting for the webcam with the Fn + F6 as described in the Quick Guide Section III.. Function keys...

    I don't see anything about a driver listed for the webcam for Windows 10 x64... Is that what was preinstalled on your machine ?

    It seems very strange that you are missing so many settings and options... Something is not right...

    How are you signed into the computer ?

    Are you using a Microsoft Account ?

    BTW... Your camera is in fact a "WebCam" according to your manual, although it may have other uses..

    The term WebCam does not all in itself indicate whether the camera is internal or external...

    Your latest Device Manager picture indicates the camera is not connected...

    That may be because it is turned off with the Functions Keys... That would be an easy fix if that is the case..

    EDIT... I just noticed on the user's manual page 2-13 that the camera is turned off by default...

    (1) Which antivirus scanner did you uninstall? There may be a utility at its site to be more thorough with that. Did Windows Defender turn on automatically? That's all one needs.

    (2) What camera icon disappeared? I hope not the ones in Device Manager...

    That should have returned with a reboot as Patricia said. And the driver is entirely Microsoft for my Dell. I think that is true for your MSI as well since there is no download for it at your site. It gets a version number that is the same as the installed version of Windows.

    (3) I see your version of Windows is 1803 (10.0.17134). After updating BIOS, other firmware, & all drivers at the Apache site, consider upgrading to 1809. Do you have a digital license at "START, Settings, Update & Security, Activation"...?...

    (4) Well, when ready, start with your VGA driver(s). What do you see under Display Adapters in Device Manager? Is there an Intel device as well as an Nvidia device? Your site has these offerings...

    (a) Update the Nvidia driver, if necessary, first trying with the Device Manager Update button (search automatically). If that fails to get it, take it from the site. That one needs to be updated with BIOS. I'm not sure it needs to be first, but seems safer that way.

    (b) Update the Intel driver only if it already shows up in Device Manager.

    (c) Now click the BIOS tab at the site, & update your BIOS.

    (d) I think I would take what is at the Firmware tab, especially if the date is later than the purchase date of your computer...

    Edit: I think I still would want to do it, but see whether this sounds scary...

    (e) Return to the Driver tab, & update the rest of the drivers, if necessary.
