I am desperately trying to get my camera back. first it came up with a error message. so I came here and someone said to uninstall the camera and restart the computer. I did that and now I cant find the camera icon in device manager. I came back here and asked again. I pretty much got the same reply but they said to go to action and "scan for hardware changes" I don't have that option and now im lost again. I don't get it because other than my firewall which ive since removed I have made zero changes to my computer and my camera was working 2 months ago and now its not. I don't know if there is an automatic update that I don't know about. but I went through the steps if it was updated and still nothing. it said if all else fails call the company that the camera belongs to, but I uninstalled so how am I supposed to know the name of it ?

Do you have scan for hardware changes at all?
Is the camera listed under ‘other devices’?
Is the camera in-built or a USB camera?
If in-built then visit the PC maufactuer’s website & look for the model number & it should tell you the camera as well as giving you the drivers for it, reinstall the drivers to see if the camera appears.
I have tried that and a system restore and still nothing
Within device manager look under file you should find scan for hardware changes.

Try going back to a previous Windows point to repair.
Follow the steps below to restore your computer to a previous date using a restore point:
1- Type recovery in the search box of the taskbar and choose Recovery (Control Panel).
2.- Click on Open System Restore.
3.- Click on Next.
4.- Select your restore point, and click Next.
5.- Click on Finish.
The computer will reboot and present a message on the desktop confirming that the restoration was successful.

i have done all of those things with the device manager. i cannot pull a camera up in the device manager because i uninstalled it. and i cannot find it anymore. even when i restart my computer its not there. i was told to uninstall it and it would come back. it did not come back at all. so i dont even know how to find the original program to fix it. i also deleted ALL antivirus stuff to make sure it wasnt a problem at all
