Now i dont have the scan for hardware changes

I am desperately trying to get my camera back. first it came up with a error message. so I came here and someone said to uninstall the camera and restart the computer. I did that and now I cant find the camera icon in device manager. I came back here and asked again. I pretty much got the same reply but they said to go to action and "scan for hardware changes" I don't have that option and now im lost again. I don't get it because other than my firewall which ive since removed I have made zero changes to my computer and my camera was working 2 months ago and now its not. I don't know if there is an automatic update that I don't know about. but I went through the steps if it was updated and still nothing. it said if all else fails call the company that the camera belongs to, but I uninstalled so how am I supposed to know the name of it ?

    hey yes she made me uninstall it and now its gone. it was a bisonpro something. i do have a digital license. yes the intel and NVIDI is there. i cant find the page on the msi site that shows drivers and bios

    okay so i found the page to the bois stuff and just tried downlaoding wizzip but now it says i need an activation code and registration? i did do this in the beginnning?

    (1) I see you recovered your camera in Device Manager...

    (a) The options in the Action menu change depending on what is selected inside Device Manager. If nothing is selected, just "Help" is an option. I suppose you finally clicked something inside the main screen & finally got the option "Scan for hardware changes", & that is what brought your icon back. But, really, a reboot should have done it too. Anyway, glad it is back this much at least.

    (b) But the icon is shaded, so I think you had to "Show hidden icons" for it. The computer thinks the camera has been unplugged. My own General tab looks a lot like yours...

    (c) At the Driver tab & the Driver Details button, is it all the same drivers as mine (except yours will have version 10.0.17134 since yours is Windows 1803)...?...

    (d) I think your drivers will look good, & that something else is going on that causes Windows no longer to detect that the camera is connected. At "START, Settings, System, About", when does it say 1803 was installed...?...

    And did you last use the camera successfully prior to that date? Then, 1803 is a big suspect.

    (2) Forget WinZip. Uninstall it. Windows 10 can open .zip files just fine unaided. At "START, Settings, Apps", scroll down to & click WinZip, then click "Uninstall". I hope it goes away nice. Otherwise, we'll have to look into it.

    (3) Pursue the BIOS & driver updates per my earlier post on page 5. (Speaking of page 5, did you see what Slance310 posted there?) It's possible that updating these drivers could somehow inadvertently nudge the camera back to life.

    (4) Since you have a digital license, you are entitled to upgrade to 1809 for free. Maybe it will see the camera. Let's consider that after your drivers are updated.

    I do not have the option to rub as admin. my manufactures website did me no justice unless I don't know what im looking for. my computer is msi and my model number is GE62 7RD471CA Apache but I couldn't find anything

    Hi,

    You may need a software program to operate the camera as well as the drivers...

    Anything you need should be available from the computer manufacturer for your specific model... If you provide that, I will see what I can find if you have no luck...

    Try going to Control panel... Right click on Device Manager and select "Run As Administrator" and see if that helps...

    The "Show Hardware Changes" should appear\run whether your camera is currently installed or not...

    You need to click on the little blue monitor icon below the HELP tab to "Scan For Hardware Changes" on my machine...

    You should also be able to click on the "VIEW" tab and "Show Hidden Devices"..

    I couldn't start my camera up last night so I came here and ask someone to help me get it fixed. I got a reply that told me to uninstall the drive and I did, then it said to restart my computer to reinstall it. I restarted my computer and now its not there and I don't know how to find it at all now. with the hidden items shown or not. I need help again

    I remember maybe two months ago it worked fine but now it says No Cameras are attached with an error code. i have uninstalled pretty much everything i can think of that wont screw things up but still there is no success. i googled a steo by step walk through and still it wont work or im not looking at the correct thing. please help.
