Hi Paul,
Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.
Are you using a Local Account or a Microsoft Account?
This issue is usually not caused by a Windows Update but rather a BIOS/Firmware update delivered through Windows Update or other OEM Channel.
Try the below steps and see if this helps.
Before trying the below steps, you may want to Find your BitLocker Recovery Key.
It might be that the Secure Boot has been disabled and some BIOS updates have caused this to happen, so follow the below steps and toggle the UEFI Secure Boot in BIOS.
NOTE: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring
of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.
Step 1: Restart your computer and look for a message on the boot screen just before or after the manufacturer logo appears and press the
Fn + F2 keys from your keyboard to enter the BIOS Settings.
Note: The key to enter the BIOS Settings varies, so I would suggest you to refer the
manufacturers manual to look for the correct key.
Step 3: Inside the BIOS Settings, look for a tab called
Boot and select that page.
Note: Depending on the BIOS manufacturer, this page could be Boot, Advanced, Startup, etc.
Step 4: Inside the Boot tab, look for a setting for
UEFI Secure Boot and toggle the Secure Boot Setting to Enabled and attempt to restart the computer and check for the issue.
Note: Each BIOS could have a different name for this. These are the keywords to look for:
UEFI, Secure Boot, Legacy Boot.
Hope it helps.

Hi Shafeeq, I came across your post and would kindly request your help in a related problem on my Lenovo 100S Laptop. In short, my Lenovo ended up in the blue screen Bit Key Recovery Enter Screen. I have the Bit Key Code but the entry field for the Bit Key
Code will not respond to my keyboard entry of the numeric code, regardless of what key I push on the keyboard. Please note I know the keyboard works. Please help as I have been trying to solve this was days and days. Thanks Anthony
