High Definition Audio Controller (Code: 10) Issue

Motherboard: MSI B360M Gaming Plus

OS: Windows 10 Pro

List of things I've done:

Downloaded audio drivers from MSI website

Updated my BIOS

Uninstalled and Reinstalled the High Definition Audio Controller

cmd commands: sfc /scannow & DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Completely removed all other audio drivers and installed Realtek audio drivers (Which for some reason never actually appear on device manager?)

I'd appreciate any help I could get.

It started happening out of the blue; I never downloaded anything.

Just got a replacement for the laptop i had just bought. It turns out the real issue, is not that there is something showing in system devices that should be in sound devices. The be a controller entry should be right where It is at. The problem is that the hda controller, is not getting resources assigned to it. On the replacement laptop, the hda controller has and  irq, and some memory addresses, and so on assigned too it. If it no resources are being assigned to it, the there is an issue with the hardware. This also explains why all the entries for realtek were listed as not connected when I told device manager to show hidden devices.

You can try this which did the trick for me:

Uninstall the driver then shut your computer and power on your computer again. Don't restart your computer but shut your computer then power on again. Hope this will do the trick for you as well.

As my unit was a laptop, that option was not available.

In any case, the HD audio controller device listed in system, is supposed to be there. It is the motherboard resource for the onboard sound card. If, like in my case, the device has an issue, and there are no unknown or other devices listed in device manager which could possibly be the sound device, then you likely have a hardware issue resulting from a bad, or failing motherboard. The failure may stop only with the sound device, or it might eventually propagate to the rest of the board resulting in total board failure. Your best bet is to replace the motherboard, or in case of a new board, return it for a new one.

I returned my laptop to where i bought it from, and as soon as the money is back in the bank, I will get another one.
