High Definition Audio Controller (Code: 10) Issue

Motherboard: MSI B360M Gaming Plus

OS: Windows 10 Pro

List of things I've done:

Downloaded audio drivers from MSI website

Updated my BIOS

Uninstalled and Reinstalled the High Definition Audio Controller

cmd commands: sfc /scannow & DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Completely removed all other audio drivers and installed Realtek audio drivers (Which for some reason never actually appear on device manager?)

I'd appreciate any help I could get.

It started happening out of the blue; I never downloaded anything.

    I've spent hours trying to fix this. I was about to reimage my system and reinstall windows. Such an easy solution. Thank you so much sir! You've saved me a lot of time.

    I tried many many things. 

    Solution that finally worked for me (don't skip any steps):

    1. Open device manager and Uninstall High Definition Audio Controller.
    2. Shut down (not restart).
    3. Unplug the power cable.
    4. Press and hold down the power button for 60 seconds.
    5. Plugin and turn on the laptop.

    Thank you so much man! I tried so many things to fix this issue and none of them had any effect until I came to yours

    There is a missing step in those instructions. On systems, with removable batteries, remove the battery after you remove the power cord. On systems with out a removable battery, check with your pc maker on how to do an EC reset. On my MSI GE73, there is a tiny pin hole on tye bottom of the laptop that must be held down for 30 seconds. In both.scenarios, this performs a (embedded controller) reset. If there are no other hardware issues ( like failed hardware), then your system will boot normally and the high definition audio controller will start working again.

    I only wish i had found this out back in feb of '19 when i made my first post to this thread. It could have saved me much grief and time.

    When i try and install the latest drivers from Msi, manually, windows blocks me saying the .inf does not contain drivers for my device. I know for a fact that this is not true. I believe the driver install is being blocked because the system thinks the device is a system device, which is wrong. I unhid the devices in device manager, and any device listed related to related or a-volume, usa listed as not being attached to the system. There is even a phantom realtek device in the sound category. I tried removing it, as well as a the erroneous entry in the system listing,  but it won't accept the driver.
