Remove Wireless Projection Banner from Desktop screen

Simple fix.   Click on the WiDi "Disconnected banner" message to give it focus, then press Alt F4 to close the app. 

Thank you so much, I've been trying to avoid a restart as I'm in an online game but the banner had me drove mad.

Add me to the list of users who finds this feature very annoying as implemented.  Options to shrink it, move it to different sides of the screen(s), put it on the main taskbar, or simply disable it altogether would be most appreciated. 

While extra functionality and simplification of the user experience is usually appreciated, a great many of us got along just fine without in the past.  Clearly, many of us don't see the point of toolbar at all.

is it possible remove the new "Wireless Projection Banner" introduced in 1809 or at the very least move it so that it does pop-up every time I touch a tab in my browser?

As many of you, I also have an issue with the banner still there when the wireless display is disconnected and, of course, unpin and settings buttons disabled at that time.

Odd enough, but dragging the banner across a bit (to get focus) and then pressing Alt+F4 worked to close it. Give it a go.

I had this problem, too. After disconnecting, the control banner remained and couldn't be unpinned or dismissed.

I got rid of it by opening Task Manager and, after making sure the "More details" button was selected, selecting the "Windows Shell Experience Host" process and clicking "End Task". The process status was then shown to be "Suspended". I don't know if anything else was affected--I didn't notice any problems--but the annoying control banner went away.

It worked for me! It was driving me nuts.
