Audio problem on Logitech Z Cinema after October Update

Hello every body,

I'm agree with you, it is a realy good audio system and I had the same problem like you.

After lot of installation and unstallation of drivers, I tried every thing which was possible. I finally manage to make it work fine. I simply brutally unpluged the power supply of the speakers when all was on. I plug it again and switch on with the telecommand and all was working fine. I turn off the computer and restart, all is going fine. Don't ask me how what happen but it works ! Maybe an internal reset.

It sounded too ridiculous to be true, but it worked! Even after reboot everything works fine just like before the update!

I bet Logitech and Microsoft wouldn't have come up with this solution, haha.

Guess you saved us all a lot of money!

I honestly couldn't believe it would work but it really did. Well kind of. I can control the volume like before but I still can't turn on/off via the remote and activate srs surround.

Edit: Now that I used the speakers through aux for some time I can say for sure that the max volume is much higher via usb. Also bass and treble levels can be controlled via the taskbar Z-Cinema app but like I said before, no power on/off or srs control.

This is one damn dumb fix... but it WORKS! xD

I set the music going on Itunes at 45% volume, only volume setting working, then took your nuclear option! & pulled the power plug out of the sub-woofer.

Waited a few mins for electrics to clear, plugged in again-no sound at all > very scared but used my brain & told myself "REBOOT", as IT always told me do back in W95 times!...., as it fixed many PC problems.

Post Reboot: Brilliant everything works again: full sound variability on everything; r/c, Z Volume keypad icon, taskbar vol slider.

Sound blasts out at full volume now, if I need it, but mostly 50%-60% is great.

Hence, I will now tell Logitech so that they can publish this solution on their web-site.

Bit disappointed with them as they have not replied yet to my last e-mail to them last Sat Jan 19th telling them to work with MS to fix it!

Hopefully this solution reaches all Z users everywhere.

Clive I think you should clearly state on your email that this is a partial fix, some functionalities still don't work like before as I stated in my above post.
