Windows 10 1809 update + KB4464330 can't set no paging file in System Drive (C:)

After I updated Windows 10 Pro 64-bit to the October 2018 version 1809 update. I can't set ~~custom size or~~ no paging file in virtual memory properties in drive C:. By after set ~~custom size or~~ no paging file and restart computer. Has system properties pop up on start up. And pagefile.sys in drive C: still automatically manage paging file size.

Building Xendesktop with 1809 and I have this issue. I can't move the pagefile to any other drive.

Built Xendesktop with 1803 and no issue.

I hope somebody check this

This issue is seen only on PCs with specific storage controllers. Mahfoud is seeing this on his Jmicron storage controller. Can people who are hitting this issue, please share their storage controller information (vendor name and/or PNP device ID)?

Hi Mahfoud,

This issue is not related to the blog post that you shared.

Can you please run the following from an admin command window and share the output?
1. reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management"
2. dir /a c:\pagefile.sys
3. dir /a d:\pagefile.sys
New in 1809, page file doesn't get created on "portable drives". It's possible that the storage controller is incorrectly reporting the drive as "portable" causing Windows to not use the drive for page files.

What's your storage controller (win+r, msinfo32, System Summary, Components, Storage) ? If you can share screenshots again, that will be great.

Hi Sandeep,

I have the same issue exactly since the 1809 update.

I have no BitLocker enabled and no registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PagefileOnOsVolume".

Microsoft suspended the update because of an issue that corrected in the Updated version of Windows 10 October 2018 Update released to Windows Insiders, it seems to be path file issue, so I'm thinking that is a bug in the 1809 update.
