Windows 10 1809 update + KB4464330 can't set no paging file in System Drive (C:)

After I updated Windows 10 Pro 64-bit to the October 2018 version 1809 update. I can't set custom size or no paging file in virtual memory properties in drive C:. By after set custom size or no paging file and restart computer. Has system properties pop up on start up. And pagefile.sys in drive C: still automatically manage paging file size.

    Same as me , But fix now below

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management.
    • Here on middle pane double click on ‘ClearPageFileAtShutDown‘ And change its value to 1 As shown below image.

    Latest WU update (released on 01/22/2019) resolves this issue for 1809 users:

    killing hotplug isn't really a solution per say, but a workaround, and a pain to try to dig up without great success with what's been posted.

    I don't want to disable sata hotplug support, I WANT hotplug support. I know enough to not eject my paging drive. I want to disable this "feature" which has much more responsibility being a warning pop.

    I'm also a systems engineer and this breaks VDI in windows because of vmware horizon view generating a scratch disk on build. It's a bigger issue than many people likely realize.

    As the first tutorial for moving the page file shows, you would not try to set a Page file for C, but instead choose No Paging File for C, then Set.

    Then you'd highlight the drive you want the paging file on, and set a System Managed paging file, then Set, then OK.

    If this doesn't work it may be a bug in 1809, which was pulled down due to serious problems. You can roll back Version 1809 in Settings>Update & Security>Recovery and then hide it until it matures using the Hide Updates Tool downloaded from here: https://www.howtogeek.com/224471/how-to-prevent...
