Unable to update Windows 10 to v1809. Freezing at boot after reboot.

I am not being able to update my windows 10 device. After all the update files downloaded, I restarted the system (2 times). But it freezes at a boot screen like the image. It doesn't boot up. Even the keyboard isn't working at this time. And after I force shutdown using button and restart again, it takes too long to restart. And everything is back to normal like previous.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is it only me facing this issue?

How to solve this or update my system? Someone, please help me.

PC specs:

RAM 32 GB

Graphics: NVIDIA 970

CPU: Intel(R) core(TM) i7-5820K @3.30GHz 3.30GHz

64 bit

I've installed a UXtheme patcher and a theme. If its the problem here.

I had to do 7! Win 10 Pro reinstalls after 1809 Update. HP Desktop could not start, could not boot, just a black screen. MS Customer support could not help. after numerous restarts I managed to get to repair mode. No other options available except to reinstall win 10 pro. done it once, 2 days it worked, new update comes in and no Boot again. Start all over again. 7! TIMES. MS! What tha Hell? Then I started making Sys Restore EVERY time I changed some settings in my PC. And...... Build in Skype. That is what caused all the problems. https://www.****/articles/uninstall-restore-windows-10-builtin-apps . I got rid of build in Skype, Now I do whatever I want, NO CRASHES!.

That wouldn't be the full story if Ido not mention that my ASUS T3 chi laptop did EXACTLY the same. I reinstall win 10 4 times there and as soon as I got rid of Skype all works.

    Good luck!

Yeah, I just gave up and locked down the MS updates.

The old Dell M65 Precision is old, but runs Windows 10 32 bit just fine.  Just can't update anymore.  Oh well.  Seems Microsoft has abandoned some of their user community.

I have the same exact problem, as well as, the right side of my keyboard typing wrong letters.

Well, my acer switch 11v notified me of the 1903 update, and I went ahead and did it.  Bear in mind all my attempts to update to 1809 failed.  In the beginning, the very same thing (fails to boot properly from powered off state) that happened in 1809 happened to 1903 also.  I did all the same things (startup repair, etc.) to try to fix it, to no avail.  I was all but ready to revert to 1803, when lo and behold I discovered a "trick" that lets me boot.  All I did was entered bios, changing nothing, and then proceeded to exit, saving changes.  Then it booted up!  I tried a second time, and it booted up again!  If this keeps up, I think I'll just stay on 1903.

Hi Omar, the same trick worked for me with older updates, but I never posted it here, because even though it was able to boot up, the Switch 11v was extremly unstable with any of the builds, rendering it unusable. Shortly after updating it all worked fine, but after some time it started randomly crashing and I was not able to turn it on again, after it entered power saving mode. So I just reverted back.

But please do keep us posted, if the latest version works for you or if it eventually becomes unstable too.

    Greetings

    Robin
