Unable to update Windows 10 to v1809. Freezing at boot after reboot.

I am not being able to update my windows 10 device. After all the update files downloaded, I restarted the system (2 times). But it freezes at a boot screen like the image. It doesn't boot up. Even the keyboard isn't working at this time. And after I force shutdown using button and restart again, it takes too long to restart. And everything is back to normal like previous.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is it only me facing this issue?

How to solve this or update my system? Someone, please help me.

PC specs:

RAM 32 GB

Graphics: NVIDIA 970

CPU: Intel(R) core(TM) i7-5820K @3.30GHz 3.30GHz

64 bit

I've installed a UXtheme patcher and a theme. If its the problem here.

Asus switch 11v.  Once again, it tried to update to 1809, tried to install, but failed.  Got that blue screen saying an error occured blah blah blah, and it rolled back to 1803.  Thankfully it didn't install all the way only to fail on restart.  Sigh.  I only hooe (again) that this is the last time, and that it just skips to the next update.

Which brings me to my next question, what if 1803 will be the last working feature update on my switch 11v?  How long will it have til it will no longer be supported by security and cumulative updates?  Anyone have any guesses?

    Hello Omar,

Microsoft states, that they will support each features Upddate for as long as 18 Month.

Version 1803 released in April 2018, that means that there will only be security updates for us up until october 2019.

I have talked to an Acer support employee and also read a forum statement of an Acer employee in the german Acer support forums and both state, that Acer knows about the problem, but they will not to anything on their part to fix this, because they consider the Acer Switch 11v too old.

The other party, that could (and should) help us out here is Microsoft, but they wont even acknowledge, that there is a problem with the October 2018 (1809) update.

    So to answer your Question:

The Acer Switch 11v will probably become unsave to use and thus obsolete by October 2019, due to missing security updates.

If you seek help, Microsoft will tell you to shove your problems up your Feedback Hub and Acer will tell you to buy a new Acer product.

    Greetings

    Robin

    P.S.

Just double checked my facts here and as I see, Microsoft will support 1803 up until November 2019. Not that this changes much, but hey....

Obsolete? If computers are obsolete because of MS Updates don't you think millions of users should know about this? Somehow I just don't believe this to be true. Normal everyday users are not searching for answers like we are and will be left in the dark.

Well, it's part of "planned obsolesence" I suppose.  Granted, the switch 11v did come out in 2015, but  I for one have no desire to switch computers every 4 years.  I'll probably keep using it til it dies on me, updated or not.  Here's hoping the next update will install properly, though.

Well there is not much I can add to this.

If you do not have any information that indicates that Microsoft will fix the issues or support their older Windows versions for a longer time period, then there is no way to argue around it, wether you want to believe it or not.

    Sorry.

Unfortunately, there is no solution when you want to use 1809 on Acer Switch v11.  The Acer community has a topic is the following topic

"Windows 10 update 1809 breaks my acer switch 11v SW5-173"

to find out what we did.  When you have a dual boot on Switch 11v and set other os as default, you are able to boot 1809 with selection for cold boot.
