Unable to update Windows 10 to v1809. Freezing at boot after reboot.

I am not being able to update my windows 10 device. After all the update files downloaded, I restarted the system (2 times). But it freezes at a boot screen like the image. It doesn't boot up. Even the keyboard isn't working at this time. And after I force shutdown using button and restart again, it takes too long to restart. And everything is back to normal like previous.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is it only me facing this issue? 

How to solve this or update my system? Someone, please help me.

PC specs:

RAM 32 GB

Graphics: NVIDIA 970

CPU: Intel(R) core(TM) i7-5820K @3.30GHz 3.30GHz

64 bit

    Windows 10 Pro or Home?  That makes a difference on how your machine receives updates.

    What semi-annuall update channel you set?   Targetted or not? I do not know exactly but I guess that MS on target channel records failed updates together with W(in)er(rror or )fault report sent by comp and does not force new update until... ????  

    I'm not sure about what you're asking, regarding update channel or targetting, i wasn't even aware these are options. I just check for updates every time I'm on my machine.

    As I posted earlier, I have the same issues as all of the other Acer Switch 11V user in here and the Windows Update App stopped trying to apply the update after the first failed attempt, but it tried again on December 12th, which bricked my device again, so I really would not assume, that Microsoft has even acknowledged the fact that there is a problem for Switch 11V users.

    I guess that you are just lucky, that the update has not been rolled out to you a second time.

    Has anyone tried to contact Acer support over this? I contacted their mail support last week, but they still have not replied by now....

    ...this is fun

    Same problem with:

    Acer Aspire

    m5y10c CPU 4G ram

    After upgrade to 1809 the system would freeze at boot.  Had to dig out my BIOS password and messed with boot settings...no joy.  Only fix was to roll back to 1803.  Sad day MSFT.

    I get the same lockup at reboot with the 1809 update.

    The error I get when the computer restores back to the 1803 version is 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 - "The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation".

    The BIOS has few settings but did include one Virtualization setting.

    I tried disabling everything in the BIOS that I could (including the Virtualization setting), disabled all non-critical Windows drivers, installed basic video and hard drive drivers, unplugged the Wifi card and it still has the lockup problem.

    The computer is an old HP Pavilion dv8000 laptop so I do not know the brand of the motherboard.

    The laptop is old but with upgraded hardware (SSD drive, 4Gb RAM) was running well on the 1803 version.

    Being an old PC there is no hope of a newer BIOS if that is the problem.

    Just a heads up that the Microsoft utility WUSHOWHIDE does not show the 1809 update so it cannot be hidden. Other updates are shown in WUSHOWHIDE.

    Microsoft have obviously done something different between the 1803 and 1809 updates.

    I will hope that the April 2019 update, when it is distributed, will not have the same problem.

    In the meantime I have changed the Registry Setting to DeferFeatureUpdatesPeriodInDaysto prevent the update from reinstalling.

    I find that Windows 10 is the most buggy Windows ever released and I have been running Windows versions since Windows 3.0.

    Poor effort Microsoft!
