Unable to update Windows 10 to v1809. Freezing at boot after reboot.

I am not being able to update my windows 10 device. After all the update files downloaded, I restarted the system (2 times). But it freezes at a boot screen like the image. It doesn't boot up. Even the keyboard isn't working at this time. And after I force shutdown using button and restart again, it takes too long to restart. And everything is back to normal like previous.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is it only me facing this issue? 

How to solve this or update my system? Someone, please help me.

PC specs:

RAM 32 GB

Graphics: NVIDIA 970

CPU: Intel(R) core(TM) i7-5820K @3.30GHz 3.30GHz

64 bit

I've installed a UXtheme patcher and a theme. If its the problem here.

    I just tried to install the 1809 update from disk, got the same result as OP however after returning to Windows (and the old 1803 update) i received the following Message:

    "0xC1900101 – 0x20017 Failed in Safe_OS Phase with an Error"

    Dont know if that provides any more meaningful information..?

    Same code here. Tried to update from microsoft nvme driver to samsung nvme driver without results. Cleand windows update, no luck.

    Thanks for the replies.

    I found a temporary solution in that I'm on the Developer Preview: I moved to the fast cycle which skipped the current October 2018 update and moved to the May 2019 one instead (18xyzz).

    For that version luckily the issue has gone away.

    Hi all, 

    I feel your pains guys. Cause I am having it too.

    I would like to confirm that not only MSI motherboards have this issue. I have Asus laptop F555UJ and it has this issue as well. I could not install (clean Install) or upgrade or do anything to get windows 1809. This sucks! 

    On the other hand, my Dell laptop works with no issue at all. We need MSI and ASUS to fix it otherwise u never get new windows 10.

    Have anyone tried this? It´s what msi suggests but i don´t want to format my computer one again just to try.

    I tried this back in October and it did not help, i even tried using the second bios on my mb but same issue. Microsoft then pulled the plug on the update so I stopped getting support from MSI, now Microsoft have re-released the update and we have the exact same issue again!

    I think MSI just don't want to admit that there's an issue with their motherboards even though we can clearly see they are the only brand of motherboards having this issue with w10 1809

    I have sent a ticket to msi about this, i have tried to notify Microsoft too. Would suggest that everyone who has this issue flags this and let's pray that it gets fixed

    I dont think it's limited to msi.  I have an acer switch 11v 2 in 1 and I experience the same issues.  Core m 5y10c processor on an intel broadwell-y pch-lp mainboard.
