Unable to update Windows 10 to v1809. Freezing at boot after reboot.

I am not being able to update my windows 10 device. After all the update files downloaded, I restarted the system (2 times). But it freezes at a boot screen like the image. It doesn't boot up. Even the keyboard isn't working at this time. And after I force shutdown using button and restart again, it takes too long to restart. And everything is back to normal like previous.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is it only me facing this issue?

How to solve this or update my system? Someone, please help me.

PC specs:

RAM 32 GB

Graphics: NVIDIA 970

CPU: Intel(R) core(TM) i7-5820K @3.30GHz 3.30GHz

64 bit

I've installed a UXtheme patcher and a theme. If its the problem here.

This is not on the HP Switch. It addresses on my original post Dell Inspiron E1750. The post may help the sluggish issue posted here.

After leaving it for dead and wait for the next release, I installed Win10 1903. Happy to report that it installed and re-booted fine. The OS  installed with Microsoft basic video driver at 1024x760. When I upped the resolution to 1200x####, it became "extremely" sluggish; Dell didn't have the driver for Win10 so I downloaded and installed Dell's E1750 video driver for Vista. The system is performing as expected and seemed stable.  With enough people reported the problem with 1809 re-booting, Microsoft should have addressed the issue immediately instead of  making folks wait for 1903. I wonder how many folks ditched their old systems because of 1809.

Hi Omar, the same trick worked for me with older updates, but I never posted it here, because even though it was able to boot up, the Switch 11v was extremly unstable with any of the builds, rendering it unusable. Shortly after updating it all worked fine, but after some time it started randomly crashing and I was not able to turn it on again, after it entered power saving mode. So I just reverted back.

But please do keep us posted, if the latest version works for you or if it eventually becomes unstable too.

    Greetings

    Robin

You were correct, the system became unstable after much usage.  Frequent hangs, bsod's, and overall sluggishness on 1903.  I even did a reset, totally wiping out all my files, and still that didn't do the trick.  So in the end I reinstalled 1803.  I've also did mods to the services.msc file and registry edits to try and prevent windows updates.  So that means no more updates cumulative or otherwise for this machine at least.  I'm now researching on how to turn it into a linux or chrome book laptop. Or I might try phoenix OS to turn it into a dual boot windows/android.  Any suggestions on these would be appreciated.
