Windows 10 1809 17763.55 cumulative update BSOD WDF_VIOLATION on HP desktops.

After installing KB4464330 (build 17763.55) my HP EliteDesk 800 G3 the machine refuses to boot, ending with BSOD WPF_VIOLATION.

I was able to get the PC working again using an earlier restore point.

It seems that this problem at least HP machines:

I contacted MS support and was told that:

Actually HP computers are not the only product affected for this issue other computers as well like DELL etc. That's why for now, we’ve temporarily paused the update for people who seek to check for updates, to investigate an isolated reported issue and will make it available for download again once ready.

In another article, we have resolution steps if you still experience the Blue Screen.

We’re aware of the issue and working with HP to investigate.

    We are seeing this issue with 1803 as well.  Deleting the file c:\windows\system32\drivers\hpqkbfiltr.sys allows the PCs to boot into windows and continue patching. 

    I think the cause is the delta and cumulative patches that we saw a while back with similar consequences.

    I do have same problem, elitedesk G3, same on 1803 and 1809  (after KB4464330)

    Also remote user reported same with HP elitedesk PC 1803 version.

    I had to use Diskpart and list volumes to select the correct boot drive. The file was missing on the X volume. Once I did that the system booted.
