I initially thought I have caught some malware. But no, it was this MS update.
Unfortunately, data very important to me got deleted, including the backup data on OneDrive.
Until today I'm finding this thread. This is not acceptable, Microsoft has caused financial damage to me and to hundred thousands of other users. What we need here is a class act and suing MS.
They must learn, that they can't do with us whatever they want, and getting away with it.
What Microsoft is did was 100% negligence, rolling out apparently not tested updates is not acceptable. They should be held responsible for the damages they have caused.
Honestly!!
@JanHeisterkamp
so-called Microsoft Insiders pointed to problems in the past, only to find that Microsoft would still release faulty updates, patches.
One piece of advice I would like to give you which is simple and sweet. Backup all of your data at least on one external drive (NAS drive, USB drive) but never ever rely on one type of backup software (such as OneDrive) alone.
Microsoft, to my mind, lost control over Windows 10 respectively aim to make Windows 10 history.
The problem is that Microsoft is rolling out messed up updates knowingly that they are bugged and are causing harm to your IT. It's as simple as that. OneDrive is backing up all data and lots of users are using OneDrive as their backup solution. I have in use a secondary backup solution, however this "update" threw out my company for 2 days of business and THIS and restoring all the lost data has cost me money. Microsoft should be held financially responsible for what they are doing to their users. Period! They did not even apologize...
