Windows 10 1809 update deleted all files from Documents!

It is heart breaking to hear this, especially when you are older and you have lost everything you have saved over the years. I want to get Mac computer now, at semi-old age. I am fed up with Microsoft!!! Fed up!!! 

1.  Why not contact Microsoft technical team? The support service is free. Why struggle on your own?

And, beware of fraudsters too on internet when trying to find a customer service/support contact number for Microsoft. I repeat, BEWARE as they are plenty posing as Microsoft support service providers! Once they get into your  computer, they will ask for payment or disable your computer with virus. Be warned!

I don’t know where you are in this world as Microsoft have different telephone numbers for different countries. Best do as i did. 

2.  I did this. It works as it gives them time to think things through. I wrote a firm sounding handwritten letter (not rude), telling them my problem, addressed it to the Chief Executive (find on internet who is the present one through Google search: eg “Microsoft Chief Executive USA”). I posted to Microsoft Headquarters, (link provided for  address), giving them my home address and phone number. A senior technician from overseas then phoned me, logged into my computer with remote access, and he sorted out. He was brilliant. 
3.  Sorry to say that you have accepted this negative situation, but you have to fight back and get help. And, you coming to this site has been a first step in the right direction. Moving forward is the next step.

Your files must be somewhere still in the computer. I will pray for you and all who have lost their files that you all find it. Yes, The Lord can do it. But you have to ACT too with the information given to you.

Hey ZV1000. First, Hello, and thank you for the excellent advice you gave to Mr. Emmanuel Korli.

I just hope and pray that you were not referring to me and my post to Emmanu'el as I was attempting to help and guide him and others as to what to do to Try to locate the:  "Windows.Old" Folder and how to enable and create a restore point. For I Never said that I was a Microsoft Tech to him nor anyone else in these posts as we help each other as I also see you doing. Ok, just double checking, that's all. Lord Bless, Michael.

I had this problem and i never had my documents back. I didn't have any backup of any sort created. My documents, music, pictures and movies were all gone for good.

I guess i just have to start all over again. This is one of the worst things to ever happen to me in the world of computing. 

Hello Emmanuel. I am so sorry you didn't have a back up on a Thumb Drive, Cloned Image on an External Hard Drive nor a Restore Point set up either. Sadly many people just turn on there computers and use them yet neglect to do back up's or even a simple restore point.  Sir, I once again say this: Look and Search on your computer for a file called: "Windows.Old" and If Found, that will have all of your information in it. And, also...and I say this to Everyone...IF you haven't already..."Back-Up your Computer on Whatever but Please use Something USB Thumb Drive or better yet an external HDD Hard Drive if possible, and Then Please also...Create a Restore Point!"   Go to your Search Box and type in: "Create". Now Look and 1st Make Sure it is in Fact "Enabled".  Then # 2: also Look and Click-on Drive C: and Turn it On if it is is off. And Thirdly, Click on Configure and Make Sure it is Set To at-least: 11 %to 15 % to insure and Keep Restore Points. And, now Lastly: "Create a Restore Point" and Type it in Like This: (" Restore to October 16, 2019 @ 11:00:00AM ").  I'm sorry you guys lost your files and folders and went through all of this grief but Please do something like I'm showing each of you just in case God Forbid it happens again.
