Microsoft has acknowledged that they are at fault for data loss caused by v.1809, and offered to try to recover lost data.
While this doesn't absolve Microsoft from responsibility, if people would regularly backup, as PC bloggers, teachers and journalists have been imploring for years, the problem would be nothing more than a nuisance. Instead it turned into a disaster.
I agree that it's time to shutdown this thread. By now, anyone who hasn't attempted to recover their data most likely won't be able to, and 1809 has been pulled from distribution.
