you think that's bad it just completely collapsed on me I just lost over 800 gig of data that will take me years to recover. I think Microsoft should have to give everyone free copies of Windows for life and assume responsibility for their screw up.
windows 10 (October 2018 update) (version 1809) deleted all my files
I have just updated my windows using the October update (10, version 1809) it deleted all my files of 23 years in amount of 220gb. This is unbelievable, I have been using Microsoft products since 1995 and nothing like that ever happened to me.
Files were located at C:/Users/rober/Documents/
This location is still present, with no files. All of files deleted.
I am extremely upset. Not sure what to do….please let me know.
Robert

2018-11-01T23:33:04+00:00 You have entered the twilight zone where threads are upside down these days. And, after you've submitted your post, you must refresh the screen to see it. Then, it will be on top instead of at the bottom.
Have you recently upgraded to Win 10 & lost some files? Then, the answer is in this thread - but it is sad. Those files are likely gone forever, unless you've ever backed them up.

Really? Welcome to the club! It's a very big club.
At one time, nobody here knew what they were doing. But we learned, and we helped each other. We'll help you too.
Sometimes we like to mix it up a little. But that's just among ourselves, and it's just for fun anyway. We'll be on our good behavior for you.
Just explain what's going on in your own words - don't worry about getting the terminology correct.
