I lost no (repeat no) files or folders during or after this process. Some were rearranged (moved) but not lost.
Instead of finding them here (as before):
I did this by typing "This PC" into my Cortana/Search Window on my Taskbar then clicking C "Windows"
Then selecting the personal (not the public) folder as shown here:
Had I not done that I would have panicked like everyone else believing that the Update had deleted almost a terabyte worth of files.
But it hadn't. So I added them to Quick Access and have lived happily ever after.
