Oh I do so appreciate the link you sent me.  I have looked at it and saved it.  My problem is that they crashed the system.  Noone can get it back up, so even though they added files to my desk top before it crashed, I can not get back in the computer at all.  Today again I was on the phone with them and they went thru the very same steps even though I told them we had already done it and once again could not get the computer up, and another hang up from Microsoft.

On the link you sent I plan on writing, perhaps they can help somehow.   Thank you again for the link and like some of the people who wrote on that link, Microsoft did not mention this or suggest any new tool-----just the same message to me....."We can not find why your computer is not responding to what we are doing...let us put you on hold...….Click'

I did have back ups.  The issue is that NOTHING will reboot the system at all.  No boot drive will allow access,  Microsoft has put me on hold so much it isn't even funny and when I do talk with someone, they get as far as the boot ( flash drive, boot reorganization, bios resetting ect) and they can not even get the computer to respond except with the same blue screen saying it cant do that.

Here is new info to retrieve your missing files, just released

    Hi all,

Microsoft has pulled Windows 10 version 1809 from the Software download page, Windows update and update assistant as of today.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/4043454/windows-10-windows-server-update-history

Why don't they post this info at the Download Page?

I downloaded an iso on the Fourth, I suppose it is not good now?

I didn't know there was an 1809 which is just as well.  I recently bought a computer with 1709 on it and immediately stopped the automatic updates.  The computer performed beautifully.  Silly me restarted the automatic updates and I've had nothing but problems.  1803 keeps trying to install without success.  As though that's not bad enough, it causes the computer to run at a snails pace, programs to stop responding, and other updates such as drivers won't install because they are "waiting their turn".  I even had a firmware install waiting.  I finally got fed up and stopped the automatic updates again.  The computer is back to its usual speedy self, programs are no longer not responding, and the other updates installed.  Considering the problems of 1809, I now consider myself lucky 1803 didn't install.

Due to the language involved, I cannot in detail express my total frustration with Microsoft, not only with Windows 10 but also with Office 365.  I don't get why this company insists on making its products worse with each new version.  Sure, it always adds new bells and whistles, but what's the point if a function that use to be simple is complicated beyond recognition?  I've used Microsoft products since I bought my first PC in 1990.  I'm nearly 65 and giving serious thought to switching brands.  I don't expect perfection, but I don't expect this much frustration either.

Despite “later” selection for 1809 update 4 days ago, it ground away for 30min anyway, then Documents folder gone. Rolled back, still gone. Tech reports unrecoverable, trying restore from backup. Very angry with Microsoft
