    After updating, the number of a file size on display was reduced. However, when I transferred this file to USB memory, the total amount of the file size was recovered. I am wondering what happens.

    Is there someone experienced same as me? If you are, please tell me about potentially lost files and folders.

    As much as everyone deserves to know precisely what went wrong, you know that when an updated build starts rolling out, the official statement will simply say something like "We fixed an issue that may have caused files to be migrated to an unexpected location or deleted."

    UPDATING EARLIER POST ON DOWNLOADS FOLDER DISAPPEARING:

    I can see now that since this UPDATE "Downloads" can get deleted UNLESS you deselect.

    I'm sure that didn't happen before; see screenshot. Stupid idea to include "Downloads" in my opinion!

    Incidentally it leaves about 6 folders in  "Downloads" for some reason, whilst exterminating remainder!

    Grabbed the ISO on Tuesday 10/2 and have done 4 desktops with DVD in place upgrade and 1 laptop with a msdc in place over 1803 with no problems.  I keep my main data on separate hdd(s) and/or ssd(s); but also utilize the user/documents etc. structure for unimportant files.  Everything ported OK on all systems and I use OneDrive. I guess things are aligned for my systems this week as I usually get hit with these problems; hence the Important Data is always kept on Separate Drive(s) with redundant backups everywhere. Been using 2Brightsparks SynBackFree for Decades.

    Exactly. People don't understand the value of backups until they login one day and their drive has crashed and or the OS blew up. I do system images twice a week to a separate drive and my 4TB data drive gets backed up to a WD external 4TB twice a month. That ext drive then gets taken out of the loop so if anything happens to the system where everything is hosed, I still have my ext 4tb drive with all my data intact. I trust manual tactics far more than any automated backup suite. Just my opinion

    Well, goto Amazon and get a 500 gig or a terabyte USB ext drive. Dart copying your documents, pictures and all that. At least do that so you wont lose any of that, Windows can be reloaded, Applications can be reloaded, data is irreplaceable .
