Windows 10 October update now available

Hi all,

Windows 10 October update rollout has again started from 13/11/2018.

    'MarieGreen' yes that is correct, what you have got is, that the Version 1809 (OS Built 17763.1) has downloaded and its waiting a reboot, reboot your system, then go to windows update and wait for the latest patch which is the "2018-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1809 for 64-based Systems (KB4464330)" that will install OS Build  17763.55.

    Thanks for that. I'm constantly backing up my files but I'll do another one tonight just to make sure before I turn it off. Better to be safe than sorry.

    The problem seems to have been fixed but if you are still worried the first thing to do is make a copy of all your important files in a folder separate from documents/pictures. Also be aware that windows update can wake your computer from sleep.

    Thanks. I've only had this computer for a month or so and certainly don't use One drive or anything like that. All I know is that when I go to turn the computer off, whereas it normally just lets me shut it down, now the only choice to shut it down that I have is to update and shutdown. That's why I was worried as to what the update was.

    If you have activated "Known Folder Redirection (KFR)" for OneDrive then don't update, see MS for details on that, if you haven't then you can safely let it do an update. I've update to 1809 and its current patch  "2018-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1809 for 64-based Systems (KB4464330)" and all is working perfectly without any problems, the new Version 1809 (OS Build  17763.55)
