Yes. When you install manually without online, You will lose all driver updates and the pc will appear in a bad resolution even you can't adjust brightness. I always recommend downloading feature update
manually and installing because the size of the download will be same during updating through windows update or custom installation. You can use the iso when your pc has some errors later. So all users please download manually and update.
Okay, I know and understand that you are responding to what I posted in regards to when Windows Updates automatically began the update to the new version 1809.
What I don't understand is why you mentioned installing manually without being online. Windows Update wouldn't be able to download anything If I didn't have internet. I have AT&T U-verse Internet, and it works just fine.
On October 2nd, I didn't even realize that there was a new version of Windows 10 yet. I found out that because Windows Update automatically checked for it and began downloading it. I didn't install anything manually as you put it.
Windows Update has also automatically in the past checked for all updates, new versions, cumulative updates and anything else like security updates for my Student Home and Office 2010, Adobe Flash update, and Windows Malicious Tool update on what I refer
to has Patch Tuesdays, etc.
I received a cumulative update today as a matter of fact for the new version 1809, and my OS build is now 17763.55. I also received updates for everything I just mentioned with no problems whatsoever.
I haven't lost any driver updates, and everything is working just fine on my Dell laptop. As a matter of fact, I've never lost any driver updates and my resolution, brightness, etc. is just fine. I've had this laptop since October of 2013 and had Windows
7 as my OS.
I had no problems when I also upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 through Windows Update. Now maybe, I've misunderstood what you meant. I just know that I've taken all updates, upgrades, etc. through Windows Update, and I've never had one problem or lost
any driver updates, either.
