2018-10-08T12:27:29+00:00 StorageSense is certainly a possible culprit. We've updated several systems from 1803 with no problems, but on all of them we have StorageSense turned OFF. If it did get turned on, it would certainly wipe out LOADS of files that we don't want removed; if we wanted them removed, we'd remove them ourselves. StorageSense sounds like a good idea until you think about what it can do to your system if you didn't configure it really carefully. There are no doubt some people for whom it might work well. But it is inherently a dangerous feature, especially if it can get turned on accidentally as a side effect of a routine update.

2018-10-07T23:54:10+00:00 Oh I do so appreciate the link you sent me. I have looked at it and saved it. My problem is that they crashed the system. Noone can get it back up, so even though they added files to my desk top before it crashed, I can not get back in the computer at all. Today again I was on the phone with them and they went thru the very same steps even though I told them we had already done it and once again could not get the computer up, and another hang up from Microsoft.
On the link you sent I plan on writing, perhaps they can help somehow. Thank you again for the link and like some of the people who wrote on that link, Microsoft did not mention this or suggest any new tool-----just the same message to me....."We can not find why your computer is not responding to what we are doing...let us put you on hold...….Click'

2018-10-07T21:37:49+00:00 Despite “later” selection for 1809 update 4 days ago, it ground away for 30min anyway, then Documents folder gone. Rolled back, still gone. Tech reports unrecoverable, trying restore from backup. Very angry with Microsoft
