I have exactly the same settings as your image as I do not have a secondary HD. I am still on V1803 b.17134.345 as I deferred the update.

Hi Richard, I'd forgotten about that setting. I'm still on 1803 and have previously used the option in File Explorer to move the location of my saved files for Documents, Pictures etc. to a second hard drive.

The files a definitely on the second hard drive and all new and previous files are in that location. The settings in your screenshot on my system in Settings > System, Storage still show the same as your screenshot. You would think if I had altered the location in File Explorer then the corresponding location in Settings would have also changed.

    Hi Davy,

My interpretation was that the problem occurred on the devices were the user(s) had enabled, through settings, the option to "Change where new content is saved" after adding a second HDD (or a separate partition on the main drive) after the default C: drive folders had already been in use (files saved there previously) without also moving the exiting files from the default folders to the new location at the same time (or later) as well. Of course I could be wrong, however that was my take.

I received the 1809 feature update on 10/04/18 (by manually checking for updates) and all went well (no problems and no data loss). I have not (don't) use the "Change where new content is saved" setting as I choose my save-to location(s) manually (Save as) being that I have (use) multiple hard drives depending on content. (It's also been a long time habit of mine to do so (use Save as)).

    For what it's worth,

    -Richard
