Files not synced - OneDrive

I am having an issue with my OneDrive synch client (they newest version) that says all files are synched, yet in the documents folder the icons do not match (and appear that the documents are not synched).  I spent 30 plus hour on the phone with Office 365 (who made matters worse at first) but then we've been able to determine with a second windows profile created (i.e. what you login windows with) that this does not occur.  They told me to contact the windows team to have them investigate my profile on the back end (i.e. their servers) as my account might have issues.  I then contacted the windows team (and asked for a supervisor) and this person (even after looking at the exact email from the Office 365 team stating my windows ID likely was corrupted) refused to help except to just delete the ID entirely.  Given this windows login ID is tied to a bunch of documents, etc. on this computer, it seems like there has to be another option.  Or how do I copy everything over to the new ID?

***Modified the title Issue with Windows Login ID - according to Office 365 Windows team needs to fix (they say nothing they can do)***

I never did make a 2nd user profile. I believe that's right, though. If they link to the same online OneDrive, they will download the same stuff from it - based on their respective OneDrive settings. I guess it applies only to the folders each one selects to sync (at the Account tab, Choose folders button). And one or both may choose to use Files On-Demand. Whatever one profile does to the shared folders will soon happen to the other (when it signs in, I guess). Whatever happens to common folders/files at the OneDrive site will soon happen to both profiles.

Before deleting a corrupt profile, I'd want to be sure at least one Administrator profile still will exist. I've seen threads in which it is really tough &/or impossible to recover a usable computer without one - except with a clean install.

I guess the data would take up twice as much local space if you have two profiles.

But he can just unlink his corrupt profile from OneDrive and delete the local files.

He'd have to get it to match the original profile. That might mean some reinstalls & settings fiddling. He's got odd folders in his OneDrive. Notice the starting letters of "A", "B", & "C", & he's said they are big...

I suppose you are right, it is a second profile using the same Microsoft account. Therefore they share the same online OneDrive account. But I presume they each have their own set of offline folders in separate OneDrive folders.

When you sign into a Windows User Account profile it should sync up to OneDrive in less than a couple of minutes if things are working correctly.  If his test profile works then why not just use that one?

I assume his test profile is another Windows User Account profile.  Not a different Microsoft account?

Like I have a guest account and one for someone else on this computer.  I can also have another one for myself I think.

I go to Settings > Accounts  > Family and other users to set up another account.
