Files not synced - OneDrive

I am having an issue with my OneDrive synch client (they newest version) that says all files are synched, yet in the documents folder the icons do not match (and appear that the documents are not synched).  I spent 30 plus hour on the phone with Office 365 (who made matters worse at first) but then we've been able to determine with a second windows profile created (i.e. what you login windows with) that this does not occur.  They told me to contact the windows team to have them investigate my profile on the back end (i.e. their servers) as my account might have issues.  I then contacted the windows team (and asked for a supervisor) and this person (even after looking at the exact email from the Office 365 team stating my windows ID likely was corrupted) refused to help except to just delete the ID entirely.  Given this windows login ID is tied to a bunch of documents, etc. on this computer, it seems like there has to be another option.  Or how do I copy everything over to the new ID?

    I have a second computer, a gaming PC, with all files synced to it.  It is usually OFF except when I want to backup files and do Windows Updates.  I don't game much anymore.  I use it for video editing.  So if I need to restore a file I can just go to that computer and pull the ethernet cable before I turn it on.  But deleted files are always in the online recycle bin.  And I have older backups hidden away.

    I believe it's just OneDrive that needs a bit of tweaking.  I've had trouble with OneDrive not syncing in the past but not too much anymore.  I have everything checked at One Drive Setttings > Settings and it seems to be working fine that way.

    I like it on as well. The drawback is that you've got only one copy of any particular file after you have clicked "free up space" on it. That will be the copy that remains at the site. But I keep backups of important stuff on external media anyway.

    Would be nice to hear back from OP. But I suppose he just wants a real Microsoft personage to resync his OneDrive account - & he has given up trying to find one here.

    I just need confirmation that he really did turn on Files-On-Demand.  In my opinion keeping that enabled improves syncing ability.  I have had syncing problems when I didn't turn that on.

    I never did make a 2nd user profile. I believe that's right, though. If they link to the same online OneDrive, they will download the same stuff from it - based on their respective OneDrive settings. I guess it applies only to the folders each one selects to sync (at the Account tab, Choose folders button). And one or both may choose to use Files On-Demand. Whatever one profile does to the shared folders will soon happen to the other (when it signs in, I guess). Whatever happens to common folders/files at the OneDrive site will soon happen to both profiles.

    Before deleting a corrupt profile, I'd want to be sure at least one Administrator profile still will exist. I've seen threads in which it is really tough &/or impossible to recover a usable computer without one - except with a clean install.
