cannot save word files after 1809 update

my computer has just updated to 1809. now it seems i cannot save any files in Word. i am using Word 2013...

Any ideas what i can do?

    There's no known fix at the moment - All of us need to start bugging Microsoft support until Microsoft fix it. Currently, you can't run Windows 10 1809 and Word COM add-ins at the same time.

    OK simaler problem seams after last update office 2010 will not save in any format

    Whg1337, that's a very cool solution. My problem in Word 2016 under Win 10 v.1809 was quite different -- perhaps both had been updated by December.  "Compare two versions of a document" didn't work.  Removing one COM add-in solved that problem.
