I searched the web and i found this https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-october-2018-update-common-problems-and-fixes#fix\_brightness\_windows10\_1809 , and it might be an update issue i think  , by the way , my power plan is set to maximum performance and my laptop is always plugged in , and solutions or ?

    Hi,

I had the same problem with this and while i can't promise the fix i found will solve everyone's issues. It definitely solved mine. Open windows update and just make sure all updates are finished and successful as well as there is no remaining updates. If this is the case, try checking your laptops native updater to check for OS and other updates. Hope this helps!

    Dear fiao95,

could you perhaps better clarify what you mean with ‘laptops native updater to check for OS and other updates’?

    -          OS: to my understanding, once Windows 10 1809 is installed, Windows Update should be downloading all the related OS updates, (e.g. in my case I have no failed updates pending installation).

    -          Other updates: do you refer to the driver update features available from the various PC manufacturers when you refer to ‘Laptop native updater’ (e.g. In my case the Dell Update application is telling me that for my specific laptop there is no drivers update recommended for installation) ?

    Thanks

@Monferrato Forget what fiao95 said it doesn't matter and probably isn't a real solutions. Driver updates for Windows 10 are automatically done if desperately necessary, no need to look into "Updates" to check something. If a update is available it will be installed. For older devices this might not always happen automatically because latest drivers are not necessarily always included in Windows update. That is my experience.

However, you can retrieve generic drivers from the hardware manufacturer (e.g. Intel, Nvidia, AMD) or especially for your device directly at the PC manufacturer website (Dell, Asus, Lenovo,...) - these also often provide "updaters", however you can check for your model manually. No need to install some crap/bloatware.

If your graphic driver and the OS are both up-to-date there is currently no real / permanent solution. Read the whole thread...this needs to be fixed by MS everything currently available is just a workaround.
