Windows Brightness issue after the 1809 update

hello , Yesterday I installed the 1809 update , and today i noticed that each time i restart my laptop the brightness level is being reset automatically to 0% or 25-50 i'm not really sure , and after windows will boot up , i will need to manually adjust the screen brightness again to 100% . I searched the web and i found this https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-october-2018-update-common-problems-and-fixes#fix\_brightness\_windows10\_1809 , and it might be an update issue i think  , by the way , my power plan is set to maximum performance and my laptop is always plugged in , and solutions or ?

    This is really crazy. I have ASUS UX ultabook and since 1809 I have 2 problems. One is SIMILAR to this. The difference is that the slider is NOT at 50%, the slider is at 100% but the brightness is at approx 50% !!!

    I tried updating the driver for Intel, NVidia, I even installed insider's preview of Windows but the issue remains!

    The thing is that when I turn the notebook on, the display is at 100% on lock screen. As soon as I logon, it is reduced to like 50% and it can be adjusted, but the maximum brightness is not 100%!

    The other problem is that sleep mode doesn't work, but that is for another topic...

    I'm experiencing this exact issue (Windows says 100% brightness, brightness is actually 50% when on battery) with my HP ZBook 14 (Gen 1). A reboot sometimes fixes the issue, but that's barely an acceptable workaround. I have installed the latest BIOS and display drivers from HP.

    While most posters have third party hardware, I'm actually on a Surface Pro (2017) and the brightness level was fine up until the OS did a small "feature" update the other day. Now 100% looks more like what 50% looked like before. 

    This unit runs Intel HD Graphics 615. I tried doing a driver update but it says I have the best driver loaded. I greatly disagree with that statement.

    Hopefully MS or someone with additional knowledge can post a solution to this.

    I have this problem too.  Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon X1 3rd generation. Your solution does work. Those settings are GONE with 1809. This makes my laptop unbearable to use in any bright room. Please fix this immediately.

    I have the same problem, whenever I restart my PC, even if my brightness is 100% it slowly turns like 50%. When my pc start up, i can see my screen from 100% slowly turns 50% is like automatically adjusting, but the brightness settings is at 100%. I have my nvidia settings set on "Use NVIDIA settings", when ever I choose that, the brightness turns back to normal without even applying the settings in NVIDIA.

    I hope windows has a fix for this. Already updated and reinstalled everything, but to no avail.
