hello , Yesterday I installed the 1809 update , and today i noticed that each time i restart my laptop the brightness level is being reset automatically to 0% or 25-50 i'm not really sure , and after windows will boot up , i will need to manually adjust the screen brightness again to 100% . I searched the web and i found this https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-october-2018-update-common-problems-and-fixes#fix\_brightness\_windows10\_1809 , and it might be an update issue i think , by the way , my power plan is set to maximum performance and my laptop is always plugged in , and solutions or ?

Why surprised? 1809 was rolled out with known bugs, Insiders had been & have been advising Microsoft for months prior to the release. Microsoft doesn't listen/Microsoft doesn't care.

Simply put, I'm surprised because "adjusting brightness" is not a new aspect of Windows 10. I can see it if it were a new addition but my problem is, why is something that has been there, working well removed, accidentally or otherwise. And if it is as you say, Microsoft was being told about this, then I agree, someone isn't listening or they're high on Rhubarb leaves.
Yep you are 100% correct. My ASUS N550JX came with windows 10 1511 build, and when I updated to 1803 there was no issue with screen brightness, now that I have updated to windows 10 1809 build every time I restart the computer the screen brightness is set to 50% even though I always set it to 100%. And there is no way to access advanced power options in windows 10 1809 build. I am getting read to file a dispute with the BBB on Microsoft, as they do these stupid new builds that are not correct, then keep coming out with newer builds. What people do not realize is most manufactures like ASUS, DELL Ext... are only good for 4 windows builds, before the bios is out of date, or the hardware can not support newer builds anymore, which means it will no longer update, or it will constantly get errors if it does update. Talk about a monopoly.... Microsoft and manufactures, really do need to be dealt with, as this is really not right
That is fine everyone at Microsoft are Tree Huggers, but seriously if I wanted to use a dark screen I would not set the screen brightness to 100%. STOP FORCING PEOPLE TO GO ALONG WITH YOUR IDIOTIC BULL**** MICROSOFT AND LET PEOPLE WHO LEGALLY BOUGHT WINDOWS 10 IN THERE DEVICE, DECIDE WHAT SETTINGS ARE RIGHT FOR THEM.... PERIOD!!
I'm not sure if I'm following you. You say you cannot access Advanced Power Options. Why then am I able to succeed on this ASUS Rogue? I'm having zero problems as to getting to the Brightness Options. I go to Windows Settings / Ease of Access / Make everything brighter, move the brightness level to whatever I wish, reboot, shut down, reboot, sneeze five times and the settings saves where I put it.
I can set it at 100% and it remains there after the rebooting, shutting down, sneezing. I've set it at 60% and it remains there after all the aforementioned.
Maybe I'm missing something you are saying Adam but I'm having absolutely zero problems with what is pouring out so much grief on yourself.
I can also access the same thing you can. the point is as so many people have mentioned, once I put the screen brightness to 100% when the laptop is restarted, it goes to 50% automatically until you reset it back to 100%. This is a very common issue with 1809 build....
1809 would also not detect the Nvidia G force card, even after latest updates from Nvidia, and goes to black screen all the time.
Like I was saying if you read my hole message, they have already come out with like 4 or 5 different windows 10 versions now. 1507, 1511, 1803, 1809 and usually the Bios, and software will not go over 4 builds, even if Bios is updated. Not sure what model your ROG is or what version of windows it came with, but ROG models are usually different, they have completely different main boards in them.
