hello , Yesterday I installed the 1809 update , and today i noticed that each time i restart my laptop the brightness level is being reset automatically to 0% or 25-50 i'm not really sure , and after windows will boot up , i will need to manually adjust the screen brightness again to 100% . I searched the web and i found this https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-october-2018-update-common-problems-and-fixes#fix\_brightness\_windows10\_1809 , and it might be an update issue i think  , by the way , my power plan is set to maximum performance and my laptop is always plugged in , and solutions or ?

    I have the same problem.

Brightness control icon is removed from the battery icon, and the control slider is also disappeared from the control panel power plan setting.

1809 update has lots of bugs.

    1. My laptop is screen touch after updating to 1809, screen touch automatically freeze.
    2. Bug in Voice Recorder. Voice recorder crash immediately on click over the app.

    Device details:

    Model: Hp ProBook 440 G2

OS: Windows 10 Pro (64 bit)

    RAM: 8 GB

    Graphics card: 2 GB, AMD

I have a similar problem. After a while (few cycles of sleep, wake up, hibernate, etc), the screen brightness cannot be adjusted anymore and is stuck in its previous setting. Changing the settings in Windows has no effect. The only way to make it reactive again is rebooting.

After the problem occurred again, I installed the graphics drivers provided by the supplier (Dell XPS 13 9370). After installation, the brightness settings respond again. This is probably similar to rebooting. However, I will see whether this solved the problem. I unfortunately forgot the check whether the driver version I installed is older than the previous one.
