Windows Brightness issue after the 1809 update

hello , Yesterday I installed the 1809 update , and today i noticed that each time i restart my laptop the brightness level is being reset automatically to 0% or 25-50 i'm not really sure , and after windows will boot up , i will need to manually adjust the screen brightness again to 100% . I searched the web and i found this https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-october-2018-update-common-problems-and-fixes#fix\_brightness\_windows10\_1809 , and it might be an update issue i think  , by the way , my power plan is set to maximum performance and my laptop is always plugged in , and solutions or ?

    yes Jeff did give a solution to this BUT as you said Microsoft HAS made a "FIX". see above articles I posted.

    Call me crazy, but even though Jeff came up with a temporary fix I'm leaving it alone as I told him intil that fix comes out. then I will see what happens.

    Good catch Jeff.  Just rebooted, powered off completely, etc. over 10 times and it is 100% at startup after disabling this garbage.

    At least it wasn't a big bug potentially impacting everyone using a notebook.

    Massive sarcasm.  Pure incompetence.

    Unfortunately, they will likely push another "fix" out that will turn this service back on a break everything again.

    issue i'm having is that it doesn't always bring down to 50% on start up. maybe 50% of the time. just now it restrated perfectly.

    If you disable it, it will not start up at each boot and bring your brightness setting down to 50%

    OK found what you meant, and I appreciate the idea.

    Just don't understand why you want to "Disable" this function. 

    Microsoft has supposedly come up with a fix for this in Build 18262 as above posts so I think I will wait to see what happens.

    BTW - Disabling does exactly what??? I'm not at ur pay grade level - lol
