Windows Brightness issue after the 1809 update

Yep you are 100% correct.  My ASUS N550JX came with windows 10 1511 build, and when I updated to 1803 there was no issue with screen brightness, now that I have updated to windows 10 1809 build every time I restart the computer the screen brightness is set to 50% even though I always set it to 100%.  And there is no way to access advanced power options in windows 10 1809 build.  I am getting read to file a dispute with the BBB on Microsoft, as they do these stupid new builds that are not correct, then keep coming out with newer builds.  What people do not realize is most manufactures like ASUS, DELL Ext... are only good for 4 windows builds, before the bios is out of date, or the hardware can not support  newer builds anymore, which means it will no longer update, or it will constantly get errors if it does update.  Talk about a monopoly....  Microsoft and manufactures, really do need to be dealt with, as this is really not right  

That is fine everyone at Microsoft are Tree Huggers, but seriously if I wanted to use a dark screen I would not set the screen brightness to 100%.  STOP FORCING PEOPLE TO GO ALONG WITH YOUR IDIOTIC BULL**** MICROSOFT AND LET PEOPLE WHO LEGALLY BOUGHT WINDOWS 10 IN THERE DEVICE, DECIDE WHAT SETTINGS ARE RIGHT FOR THEM....  PERIOD!!

Just disable 'DisplayEnhancementService'  in services.msc and brightness will stay at 100%.

This will not let you set it at any other setting (50%,75% etc,) but who does that anyway.

This so called problem will be fixed April 2019 release as there is no more settings for brightness in the pre-release version now, unless they put it back.  

Who does it? Erm, millions of users in their laptops? Save battery? Adjust brightness to illumination conditions? I like the screen dim at night and bright at day. That's not a fix for me, that's solving (or worsening) the problem by removing a essential feature.

• What is the make and model number of the PC?
• Do you have additional graphics card installed on your computer?

We would suggest you to follow the method mentioned below and let us know if that helps.

1. Press Windows and R key together on your Keyboard. Type control and hit enter.
2. Search for Power Options.
3. Click on “Change advance power settings”.
4. Under Advanced settings tab, Expand the Display option
5. Expand **Enable adaptive brightness,**then **** turn OFF the settings.
6. Restart the PC.

3. This affects me too, and we don't need a bowl of your leftover Copy Pasta.

Gigabyte P57wv6 owner here with all drivers up to date and I run into this issue on every boot.

What other features or functions will stop working if you disable this service?

If you create Scheduler Task to reset your brightness to 100% at logon using the command below, this does work, but I have found that the brightness dims again somewhere between 10-15 minutes, so I have set the task to run every 10 minutes. Seems to be working.
