Windows Brightness issue after the 1809 update

hello , Yesterday I installed the 1809 update , and today i noticed that each time i restart my laptop the brightness level is being reset automatically to 0% or 25-50 i'm not really sure , and after windows will boot up , i will need to manually adjust the screen brightness again to 100% . I searched the web and i found this https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-october-2018-update-common-problems-and-fixes#fix\_brightness\_windows10\_1809 , and it might be an update issue i think  , by the way , my power plan is set to maximum performance and my laptop is always plugged in , and solutions or ?

    • What is the make and model number of the PC?
    • Do you have additional graphics card installed on your computer?

    We would suggest you to follow the method mentioned below and let us know if that helps.

    1. Press Windows and R key together on your Keyboard. Type control and hit enter.
    2. Search for Power Options.
    3. Click on “Change advance power settings”.
    4. Under Advanced settings tab, Expand the Display option
    5. Expand **Enable adaptive brightness,**then **** turn OFF the settings.
    6. Restart the PC.

    1. That has nothing to do with this issue.
    2. That is not even an option in Windows 10 1809
    3. This affects me too, and we don't need a bowl of your leftover Copy Pasta.

    Gigabyte P57wv6 owner here with all drivers up to date and I run into this issue on every boot.

    O Aaron.Stoker, my my my! You are into one blue rage here bubba! My question is, is your computer still intact or have you heaved it out through the window?  :-D

    Seems fixed here too the past several boots. Insiders 1st kb4469342 maybe?

    The settings here are at;

    Doesn't the "Make Everything Brighter" do the trick, found in Windows Settings / Ease of Access? One can adjust it to whatever brightness that one wants, can't one?

    I have disabled the DisplayEnhancementService and I can still adjust my brightness using the function keys on the keyboard. The display brightness in the power options are still gone. When I reboot, my brightness remains at the previous setting.

    So if you have a laptop with the vendor specific drivers for the keyboard function keys, this workaround will get you by.

    I'm an idiot. I forgot the first time i tried this to disable the service (so it won't restart at boot) and actually reboot the machine to get the results. Now the screen works as it should.

    Just tried.

    With it disabled, the Windows 10 brightness indicator thing will move up and down, but the screen doesn't follow. Its stays stuck.
