| Earlier this week, Intel unintentionally released version 9.21.00.3755 of the Intel Smart Sound Technology (ISST) Driver through Windows Update, and inadvertently offered it to a range of devices running Window 10 version 1803 or 1809. If your device contained<br> a compatible audio driver, the new driver overrode it and caused audio to stop working.<br><br><br><br><br><br>We are working with Intel to resolve this issue, and as soon as we learned of the issue on October 11, we made sure the driver was no longer being offered through Windows Update. If it was already installed on your device, you will need to uninstall the<br> driver using the following instructions.<br><br> <br><br> <br><br><ol><br><li><span style="color:#333333">From the Start menu, type <strong>Device Manager </strong><br>in the search box. Although Intel Sound software/driver doesn't work,youre putting the cart infront of the horse...Intel specifically says that after the OS installation,youre 1st install is the MB Chipset software/driver...The Chipset controls Audio/Video/Networking/etc, & with a Win 10 installation/upgrade to newer version,it must be re-installed..Youre pc mfg will have it,& locate Storage Controller software/driver..
Nothing is working - Still the same. not sure how to roll back the driver as somebody stated
I'm a local IT Consultant. Yesterday I had a client with an HP All in One Windows 10 desktop with this exact problem. Reinstalling the Realtek driver from the HP support web site fixed the problem for me... ut for how long.. who knows?

Right click on Start > Select Device Manager
Locate the driver
Right click on it > Select Rollback
