Right click your Start Button, choose Powershell (admin)
Paste this command into Powershell and hit Enter
Get-AppxPackage *windowsphone* | Remove-AppxPackage
When that command completes, close Powershell

Hi,
Regrettably, I am less than underwhelmed by the new Phone Companion App that came with the latest Windows 10 update.
Having said that, how do I uninstall Microsoft Phone Companion? When I try from the Apps menu, I have to go to Advanced Options, which brings to Your Phone Companion App; I try clicking on the TERMINATE button, but nothing happens -- and apparently, the App is running in the background so I can't uninstall
Would appreciate some advise on this one as well

You cannot uninstall it. That is a system app.
Just stop it working in the background and forget.

2019-10-03T14:47:24+00:00 First of all, Microsoft says that you can't uninstall Your Phone app because it is part of an integrated system .....
Second, the Powershell approach using the command line recommended, did not work for me although it did work for others. Trying to use the M/S uninstall program did not work.
Finally, the suggestion to use CCleaner to remove the app worked for me and contrary to M/S's admonition, my computer did not blow up.
What bothers me the most is that Microsoft believes that they can install programs on my computer without my agreeing to have them installed. And that they provide no process for uninstalling the unwanted apps.
Their argument may be it's to defray the costs of maintaining windows 10. However, even phone apps allow you to opt out of advertising by paying a surcharge. Why can't M/S give me/us the same option.

2019-10-04T01:40:24+00:00 This app is the Devil and opens up a big security hole allowing attackers to actually sync mawlare between your phone and computer by process hollowing the app. I have already written up a POC and submitted it but have heard no response as of yet.
