Windows 10, Version 1809. Network does not show computers

In Win10, v 1809 I go to "Network" in file explorer and no computers are showing - neither my computer nor other computers on the network.

I was able to find the ip address of the computer I was searching for and successfully ping it via command prompt.

Any ideas?

    "The problem is if your network is already Private the trigger is not activated and FDResPub is not started."

    All my four PC's are installed with default settings with 'Network discovery' and 'File and printer sharing' turned on and Network is set to 'Private'. On each restart FDResPub is running as shown in fg2001 screenshot. Some cases PC's are visible under File Explorer Netwok, but not allways. It isn't depend on if FDResPub is set 'Manual (triggered)' or 'Automatic'

    • Dell Latitude: No network issue    Intel Ethernet Connection I218-LM
    • Dell Precision: Network issue        Intel Ethernet Connection I219-LM 
    • Dell T5500: No network issue       Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gb
    • Asus CM6330: Network issue       Realtek PCIe Gb Family Controller (Onboard)   
    • Asus CM6330: No network issue  Intel Gigabit CT Desktop adapter (NIC card)

    Pay attention to ASUS: Same PC, same settings, different network adapter and different outcome with networking.

    I have a Windows10 1909 system that does not show up on a 2004 system. Run the batch file and 1909 shows up on the 2004 system. Insert the task scheduler on the 1909 systtem and reboot. The 1909 shows up on the 2004 system.  Reload/refresh the Network view on the 2004 and the 1909 computer disappears.

     This system is not going to sleep and I even disabled the Power management on the wired NIC port.

    The question is, does each computer shows itself up after a PC restart ?

    If it show itself, but it doesn't show on another machine you are looking at a different issue.

    I had a mixture of 1909 and 2004 before and worked fine with this workaround, now all my machines run 20H2 and Insider Development Builds.

    The workaround always worked fine and still works for me now.

    I can also work fine fine without this workaround if I enable Remote Desktop on the affected machines.

    The problem is a timing issue due to the FDResPub starting up before the actual network adapters are ready to connect.

    Here are 4 20H2 19042.610 plus one Development Build 20251.1

    All 4 of these were already running, though they were set to:

    1. Auto
    2. Auto (Triggered)
    3. Manual
    4. Manual

    The 2 that were manual I've switched over to Auto.

    Unfortunately, still no computers listed though.

    Any other ideas?
